Spinning and flow forming techniques are now widely used to manufacture wheels. Compared with conventionally produced wheels a grain structure is created which yields substantially improved mechanical strength and toughness.

The improved material properties in turn lead to lighter wheels and optimum material usage, contributing to the progressive reduction of overall vehicle weight. Further, lighter wheels help reduce the unsprung vehicle mass leading to improved handling characteristics.

Spinning of Three-Piece Wheels

Three-piece wheels offer the maximum scope for weight saving. The actual rim comprises of two parts, the inner and the outer, which are spun from disc blanks. Our multi-purpose spinning machines are principally used for these applications.
